The Big Hitters

From the new July 2017 ECF gradings list, the highest players graded in the Notts League, with the clubs they appeared for, are shown below.
1 | Chris Dorrington | Grantham | 228 |
2 | Bao Nghia Dong | Ashfield | 215 |
3 | Zhe Kang Law | West Notts | 214 |
4= | Jonathan Tait | Mansfield | 207 |
Mike Barnes | Gambit | 207 | |
6 | Shabir Okhai | West Bridgford | 202 |
7= | Alex Posazhennikov | West Notts | 200 |
Jonah Willow | West Notts | 200 |
I doubt whether the County has had 8 players graded over 200 appearing regularly in the League before. Congratulations to Jonah on attaining this milestone for the first time. The League also has several players graded 190 and above., including Grantham’s captain Nigel Birtwistle, graded 199.Tough luck on Nigel, I would imagine this grade feels similar to a batsman being dismissed for 99 at cricket.
Notts. Division 1 appears stronger than ever and if West Notts are able to regularly field 3 players with ECF grades of 200, they may have the fire-power to challenge Grantham’s title dominance. An interesting season lies ahead.
