Correspondence Chess (26th Dec)
This year the Nottinghamshire team were playing in Division 1 of the County & District Correspondence Chess Championship (C & DCCC). As it was the top division they faced tough opposition on all boards. The team are currently in last place on 5 points with two games left to finish. Full Results
4NCL Online Season 2 (24th Dec)
Ashfield entered four teams into the 4NCL online league for season 2.
Team A started with two wins in the early rounds but could only manage a draw after that. They finished 6th out of 8 in division 2 group C. Full Results
Team B had an average start but finished strongly in the later rounds. They ended up mid table 4th out of 8 in division 3 group C. Full Results
Team C played well overall but a couple of disappointing losses saw them slip down to 17th out of 68 in division 6. Full Results
Team D had the most success, winning 6 out of 7 matches and finished 2nd out of 68 in division 6. Full Results
Chess In The Rule Of Six (23rd Sep)
Phil Morgan looks at online chess and the options available for players. Previously he viewed online chess as a good way to practice for over the board matches but now he realises there is a lot more it offers. Full Article
The National 100 (5th Aug)
The National 100 is a 4 region slow play national mini-league for U100 players played across the 3 middle Saturdays in August at 6:30pm. The first match starts on Saturday 8th August. Midlands U100 players wanting to play for the region will need to be ECF members and should fill in the form on the Midlands club home page
